Before joining Crescendo, Aidan gained extensive experience both on the ground working for communities and behind the scenes analyzing data on behalf of the communities she has served. Aidan is comfortable moving between community, hospital, and academic settings for collecting, cleaning, managing, analyzing, creating visuals, reporting, and presenting quantitative data. After receiving a B.A. in Psychology with a focus on trauma studies, Aidan worked as a community-based Health Coach for people experiencing severe mental illness and as a jail-based Recovery Coach for
incarcerated men and women at the Wayne County Jail (Richmond, IN). The experiences and people
Aidan met during this time inspired her to pursue a Master of Public Health degree at George Washington University. When Aidan moved to the East Coast, she wanted to strengthen her research skills and worked for Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine as a Research Program Assistant until the beginning of the pandemic.
While completing her MPH degree, Aidan was non-clinical COVID-19 support for Baltimore’s Field
Hospital and later for the University of Maryland Medical System’s mobile vaccine and testing units
throughout West Baltimore. This involved community-based patient care and using EMR software and databases. Aidan’s passion for working for the people of Baltimore grew during this time and led to her employment as the Data Analyst and Interim Program Manager for the University of Maryland Medical System’s portion of the Baltimore Metropolitan Diabetes Regional Partnership health equity grant.
In her free time, Aidan enjoys cycling, exploring new places, and trying new foods. Most importantly, Aidan loves to learn from and listen to others. Having lived in 7 different states and a variety of communities, Aidan recognizes that no two communities are the same and every community is worth advocating for.
